About

Twin Cat is all about the appreciation of new and pre-loved clothes. Particularly those of a quirky nature. We’d like to say the genius idea of making our store came after an alcohol-fuelled night at 4am in the morning on the couch watching a spider eat a nacho. Because that would be so much cooler. Unfortunately it came about because we realised we were starting to dress the same and kept boring other people with our conversations about fashion. We kept trying to convince our friend to get a haircut like Morrissey, but he refused, and the store was born. We’ll show him.

I (Sam) thought a nice way to wrap up this weekend would be to share with you some of my favourite fashion blogs, and goodness knows, there are a LOT of them. So many infact, that it’s kind of hard to sift through them all. Many are inspired I suppose by the infamy of sites like the Cobra Snake, the Sartorialist, Jak and Jil, etc, however I thought I’d share a few of my bookmarks (some well known, some lesser).

  • This is Howl - Kirsty Lee, a twenty-something Londoner with a penchant for rock chic tomboy looks. Was never a fan of Emma Cook boots til I saw them on her.
  • Shelley and Joachim - Shelley is a LookBook.nu superstar - tiny little Swedish thing with platinum hair and doll-face looks, with her equally platinum friend Joachim, they have started a relatively new fashion/lifestyle blog.. and only 17 years old!
  • Platinum Evil - I like this blog mainly because it’s Australian, but also because it’s written by the head designer of well-known label Mink Pink, who I own several pieces by. It’s interesting to find the inspiration behind the label.
  • Flair to Remember - Another Aussie blogger, I love this girl’s impeccable vintage styling, though not my own style, she is beautiful, pretty and has this 50’s housewife throwback vibe going on. And she seems like a genuinely lovely girl to boot!
  • Oui, Je Suis - Also flying the Aussie flag is this lovely lass, who I believe is a Supre shop assistant… the reason she caught my eye was because it was the first time I’d seen Supre worn well. She really knows how to piece together an outfit.
  • Hanneli - A superstar in her own right (a real slashie.. part time model/TV presenter/general fashion goddess), this woman is beautiful! She is Norwegian but works in America.. her blog is in Norwegian (I, luckily understand Norwegian) but for those of you who don’t, just enjoy her photos!

That should be plenty of reading/eye-candy for you, at least for a little while. Have a great week kittens!

Love, TC xo
